Thanksgiving is one of the hardest meals of the year to pair wine with. There’s turkey and ham, cranberry and sweet potatoes, stuffing, gravy, and everyone’s favorite side, all on one plate.
The secret is acidity. A wine with bright, lively acidity refreshes your palate between bites and holds up to almost everything on the table. Two of the best places to find it are Alsace and Austria, regions that don’t always make it into the Thanksgiving conversation but absolutely should.
We’ll also be clearing up one of the most common misunderstandings in wine. If you think Riesling is a sweet wine, this class is for you. Many of the world’s best Rieslings are dry, crisp, and beautifully food-friendly, and we think a few glasses will change your mind.
You’ll leave with a new appreciation for these wines and a list of bottles to bring home for the holiday.
