The Neighborhood Comes Alive at SouthPark After Five
Thursdays in SouthPark just got better.
Free live music, food trucks and drinks, and hands-on art experiences are coming to Symphony Park six times this fall at SouthPark After Five, a weekly free entertainment and happy hour series happening every Thursday from September 7-October 12.
Here's the Scoop:
- SouthPark After Five is happening from 5-9pm every Thursday from September 7-October 12.
- SouthPark After Five attracted nearly 15,000 guests during its inaugural season in spring 2023.
- The event is located at Symphony Park, at 4400 Sharon Rd., on the corner of Barclay Downs Drive and Carnegie Boulevard, adjacent to SouthPark Mall.
- The event is free to attend and family and dog friendly. Dogs must be leashed and friendly!
- Come prepared with your favorite picnic blanket or chairs.
*No outside beverages or coolers will be permitted*

September 7
- Breakfast Club Ultimate 80's
- Look for 30 mini art pieces designed by North and South Carolina artists hidden around Symphony Park in a scavenger hunt with ArtSearch
- Artists include: Kristen Kuchtjak, Zulynette, Heather Kostell, SWYTCH, Jamea Marlowe, Dashia Golden, and Tarra Lu
September 14
- Landslide NC - A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac
- Throw paint at a canvas and make 5 art pieces as a community with Splatter Charlotte - BONUS! Each of the pieces will be given away raffle-style at the event
September 21
- Coconut Groove Band Steely Dan Tribute
- Take a picture with Queen Charlotte! The interactive photo installation will be designed by Lauren Reddick
September 28
- Chicago Rewired
- Caricatures of pets and people with Charlotte based artists Rebecca Lipps and Jeff Mangum
- See the larger than life Birdmen, part of the Charlotte International Arts Festival
- Help shape the future of SouthPark with a community engagement exercise led by SouthPark Community Partners. Can't make it? Share your thoughts on the future of SouthPark by participating in this online survey.
October 5
- One Irish Rover - A Van Morrison Tribute Band
- Join in as Charlotte based artists Nony and Makayla Binter live spray paint a spooky SouthPark themed glow in the dark art piece
October 12
- Thurston Howell Band
- SouthPark is getting spooky! Visit the SouthPark Pumpkin Patch to find the perfect mini-pumpkin from Cotton Hills Farms, or pick up a hand painted pumpkin from Charlotte based artists Dashia Golden, Heather Kostell, and Zulynette (artist made pumpkins are first come, first serve).
Find Food At SouthPark After Five
Expect a rotating list of local food trucks, pre-order a picnic box from Reid's, or discover one of the 100+ dining options in the neighborhood.
Plan a Corporate Happy Hour
Reid's Fine Foods and Suffolk Punch offer corporate happy packages for up to 100 guests that make planning a team outing a breeze. Reserve space at either location so your squad can gather steps away from Symphony Park before SouthPark After Five, then head to the park for an evening of free live music, art experiences, and craft food and drink. Plus, you can pre-purchase event drink tickets so your group can get right to hanging out as soon as they arrive. Learn more:
