Thursdays in SouthPark just got better.
Free live music, food trucks and drinks, and hands-on art experiences are coming to Symphony Park six times this fall at SouthPark After 5, a weekly free entertainment and happy hour series happening every Thursday from September 5-October 17.
Here's the Scoop:
- SouthPark After 5 is happening from 5-9pm every Thursday from September 5-October 17.
- The event is located at Symphony Park, at 4400 Sharon Rd., on the corner of Barclay Downs Drive and Carnegie Boulevard, adjacent to SouthPark Mall. Parking is free and there are paved walkways throughout the park.
- Come prepared with your favorite picnic blanket or chairs to sit in the lawn.
- There's a different musical performance each week, plus hands on activities for all ages.
- The event is free to attend and family and dog friendly. Dogs must be leashed and friendly.
Outside beverages and coolers will not be permitted. Outside food will be permitted.

Opening act from 5-6:30pm, main act from 7-9pm.
September 5

- Free face painting with Face Art & More
September 12
- Shelley Ruffin | Southside Station
- Free caricatures with Rebecca Lipps, Jeff Magnum, and Jerry Frazee
September 19
- Java Band | Love Story Band Taylor Swift Tribute
- Free community coloring wall with DRAW IT by Mel
- Plus, expect a free performance by the Birdmen, part of the Charlotte International Arts Festival, from 6:10-6:55pm
September 26 | POSTPONED to October 17
- Coconut Groove Band | Queen City Yacht Rock Band featuring Michelle Renée
The September 26th event has been postponed to October 17 due to inclement weather.
October 3
- Java Band | On The Border Ultimate Eagles Tribute
- Free face painting with Face Art & More, plus free sunflowers for the first 1000 attendees
- Join us for a supply and blood drive to help those affected by Hurricane Helene:
- The American Red Cross bloodmobile will be at the neighboring DoubleTree Hotel from 3-8pm, thanks to organizing partners Albemarle Corporation.
- Helene has caused the cancellation of 2,500 blood donations and created an urgent need for blood to support hospitals whose supply has been disrupted.
- Access the DoubleTree Hotel blood donation center through Symphony Park, or from Carnegie Blvd.
- Pre-register for blood donations here.
- Supply donations will be accepted between 12-9pm at Symphony Park.
- There's a particular need for water, nonperishable food items, cleaning supplies and trash bags, diapers and baby wipes, and paper plates and plastic utensils.

Find Food At SouthPark After 5
Expect a rotating list of local food trucks, pre-order a picnic box from Reid's or Legion, or bring takeout from one of the 100+ dining options in the neighborhood
Outside beverages and coolers will not be permitted. Outside food will be permitted.
Get a Ride
SouthPark After 5 has partnered with Just Her Rideshare to offer discounted rates on rides to and from Symphony Park during the event.
- Just Her Rideshare is locally owned and operates like other on-demand rideshare programs (like Uber). The company prioritizes women's safety and comfort by offering rides from an all-female driving team.
- Use code JHRSP5 for $5 off on any pre-scheduled rides and JHRSP15 for 15% off any on-demand rides. This offer is only valid on event days, for riders coming to or leaving the event.
