Share Your Support for Symphony Park's Renovation

Symphony Park has the potential to become one of Charlotte's great community assets, a place where memories are made, communities convene and converse, and daily life buzzes with activity.

Through a public-private partnership led by SouthPark Community Partners (SCP) announced in April 2025, the private sector will commit $13 million to improvements, led by a significant investment from Simon Property Group to build two permanent anchor restaurants at the park’s edge. SCP has also launched a $5 million capital campaign to support this project.

SCP is requesting $8 million from the City of Charlotte, leveraging existing bond capacity dedicated for capital projects in the SouthPark area, including Symphony Park improvements.
To move this project forward, we need you – SouthPark's stakeholders – to share your excitement and support for this transformational project with our City's leadership.

Please email your letter of support to the full City Council ahead of their vote on Monday, June 23.

Dear Mayor Lyles / Dear Council Member _______:

As a SouthPark business leader, I am writing to encourage you to vote in favor of SouthPark Community Partners’ request for funding to support a public-private partnership at Symphony Park.

The City’s investment of $8 million leverages existing bond capacity already dedicated to projects in District 6. It would fulfill the promise made to our community during the SouthPark CNIP, which identified renovations to Symphony Park as a community priority and earmarked City funds to support a public-private partnership.

This public sector investment would unlock $13 million in private capital, transforming Symphony Park into an asset for all of Charlotte. The business community is united in its support of this transformative investment. I urge you to support this project when it comes before you later this month.
